A sake set crafted using the traditional art of Magewappa, a form of bentwood craftsmanship that originated during Japan’s Edo period and has been passed down through the climate and craftsmanship of Akita Prefecture for generations. The gently curved form created from Akita cedar — softened through boiling and carefully bent by hand — contrasts beautifully with the precise linear grain of the wood. With continued use, the cedar gradually deepens into a rich amber hue, developing a distinctive luster and character over time. The square detail on the reverse side, which lends depth to its dignified presence, is created using the traditional kabatoji technique, in which strips of wild cherry bark are used as bindings. Lightweight and easy to carry, the set is well suited for aperitif moments on a terrace or in a garden at dusk, bringing a quiet richness to the occasion. The set includes one generously sized katakuchi sake pitcher and six ochoko cups. Each piece is presented in a custom-made wooden box crafted from the same cedar wood.

江戸時代にその技が生まれ、秋田県の風土と職人の手によって今日まで受け継がれてきた伝統工藝・曲げわっぱの酒器。煮沸してしなやかに曲げられた秋田杉が描く緩やかなカーブと、端正に並ぶ直線的な木目のコントラストが美しい。使い込むほどにアメ色へと深まり、時とともに独特の艶と風合いを育んでいく。その凛とした佇まいに奥行きをもたらす背面の四角い意匠は、山桜の皮で留める樺綴じの技法によるもの。軽やかなつくりは携行性にも優れ、夕暮れのテラスや庭でのアペリティフタイムを、より豊かなひとときへと導く。大ぶりの片口とお猪口6 個セット。同じ材木を使った特注の箱に収めてお届けします。
